WBA/WBO lightweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez (52-5, 38KOs) is still considering his options. Sources close to Marquez have told outlets in Mexico that a third fight with Manny Pacquiao is not being ruled out. Last week in Mexico, Marquez met with Golden Boy Promotions to discuss his expired promotional contract. Marquez revealed to Mexican reporters that Golden Boy offered financially rewarding fights against IBF junior welterweight champion Zab Judah and mandatory lightweight contender Robert Guerrero.

Guerrero would have to beat Michael Katsidis on Saturday to remain an option, but those close to Marquez expect the fighter to disregard Guerrero, because the Mexican veteran wants to capture a fourth world title. Judah would present Marquez with the desired opportunity to win a fourth world crown.

Should Marquez wait around for Pacquiao, he would have to strike a direct deal with Golden Boy's rival, Top Rank. Golden Boy has claimed their contract with Marquez is still valid, setting the stage for a complicated scenario. Golden Boy is waiting for Marquez to advise them on what he plans to do next.
