Juan Manuel Marquez is now the king of Mexico after generating a record breaking television rating for his trilogy fight with Manny Pacquiao, which took place last Saturday at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. According to Sal Rodriguez, nearly 40 million Mexicans watched the broadcast through Azteca 7, in what became the most watched boxing event in Mexican television history. For the first time, a rating score of 30 was surpassed.

A confidential source revealed that Pacquiao-Marquez generated an average rating of 31 points, which exceeds Manny Pacquiao's fight with Antonio Margarito, which did a rating of 27, and blows away Saul Alvarez's rating, by at least eight points, for the March fight against Matthew Hatton.

Pacquiao won a controversial twelve round majority decision with scores of 114-114, 115-113 and 116-112.
