Mario Barrios Pleased With His Recent Performance

San Antonio’s unbeaten Featherweight phenom, Mario Barrios (3-0, 1 KOs) looked sensational in his third fight, dominating his opponent Lionell Kelly (0-3) over four rounds.  Barrios controlled the action from the opening bell using his height and reach to land effective punches throughout the fight. A powerful left hook to the head by Barrios landed flush on Lionell’s temple sending him to the canvas in the second round. Barrios has scored five knockdowns in his first three fights showing explosive combinations.

“This was my first time fighting out of my hometown and I wanted to look impressive,” said Barrios. “The crowd at the Pala Casino was very live and it felt good to get another win.  My goal is to keep fighting and take my career to the next level with each fight. I feel I’m getting better every time I step in the ring.  I’m going to keep working hard and get right back in the gym.  I want to thank Gary Shaw for giving me this opportunity.” Barrios is managed by Luis Decubas Jr and Bob Santos.
