| Mares-Morel, Moreno-De La Mora Double Heads To Texas

By Jhonny Gonzalez Last week, it was announced that a Showtime televised bantamweight doubleheader would take place in Cancun, Mexico. But, according to sources who spoke to BoxingScene.com, the show is now going to take place in Texas - possibly at the Don Haskins Convention Center in El Paso. In the main event, unbeaten Mexican Abner Mares (23-0-1, 13KOs) will face Eric Morel (46-2, 23KOs) of Puerto Rico. The co-feature will have Anselmo "Chemito" Moreno (32-1-1, 11KOs) defending his WBA championship against David De la Mora (24-1, 17KOs) of Mexico. Honestly this double header is not worthy enough to be on Showtime Championship Boxing. These are not the type of fights that Showtime should be buying. But, we all know that the reason Showtime bought this is because they're Golden Boy figh... |
