Mares-Morel, Moreno-De La Mora Double Heads To Texas

By Jhonny Gonzalez

Last week, it was announced that a Showtime televised bantamweight doubleheader would take place in Cancun, Mexico. But, according to sources who spoke to BoxingScene.com, the show is now going to take place in Texas - possibly at the Don Haskins Convention Center in El Paso.

In the main event, unbeaten Mexican Abner Mares (23-0-1, 13KOs) will face Eric Morel (46-2, 23KOs) of Puerto Rico. The co-feature will have Anselmo "Chemito" Moreno (32-1-1, 11KOs) defending his WBA championship against David De la Mora (24-1, 17KOs) of Mexico.
