| Marcos Maidana Knocks Angel Martinez Out in Three
|

By Jhonny Gonzalez Former world champion Marcos "El Chino" Maidana stopped Angel "Archangel" Martinez in the third round of their welterweight fight, capturing the Intercontinental welterweight title of the World Boxing Association (WBA) at the legendary Luna Park Stadium in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Maidana started slow, but began to open up in the second round. During the third round action, Maidana cornered Martinez and unleashed a left hook to the body that put the Mexican boxer down for the full count. Maidana's record rises to 33 wins (30 KOs) and 3 losses. While Martinez falls to 13 wins (9 KOs), 4 defeats and 1 draw. Maidana, who stopped veteran Jesus Soto Karass in September, wants to fight Paulie Malignaggi or Robert Guerrero in 2013. Tags: Marcos Maidana  |
