Welterweight contender Marcos Maidana (34-3, 31KOs) was a little fired up when discussing his dislike for WBA champion Adrien Broner (27-0, 24KOs). A deal is close to being wrapped up for the two boxers to face each other on Showtime Pay-Per-View, on December 14th, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

During Thursday's Fox Sports televised card at the MGM Grand, the two fighters were involved in a minor confrontation.

"I wasn't planning to be violent or anything. I went to approach [Golden Boy CEO] Richard Schaefer to say hello and he said something and he disrespected me, and we started pushing each other. That was all. I don't want to make a big deal or a scandal," Maidana said.

It was only the second time that Maidana met Broner in person.

"We met Broner before when I fought Devon Alexander in St. Louis [on February 25, 2012]. We said hello that time and that's it. But now that we're fighting, all I can say is f*** Broner," Maidana said.

Disliking Broner is nothing new for the Argentine fighter. At that same February event, Maidana was upset with the type of verbal assault that Broner rained down on his opponent Eloy Perez.

Last February when he was fighting Eloy, he was so disrespectful to Eloy and Eloy's family. At the time I say 'what kind of guy would do such a thing to Eloy's family.' His personality, I don't think anyone really likes what he thinks or what he says," Maidana said.
