On Saturday, Krzysztof Glowacki (24-0, 15 KOs) defeated Nuri Seferi (36-7, 20 KOs) in a WBO cruiserweight eliminator to take a huge step towards gaining a title shot at WBO champion Marco Huck (38-2-1, 26 KOs). The next step for Glowacki is to face British boxer Tony Bellew, who won his WBO cruiserweight eliminator last year with a split decision win over domestic rival Nathan Cleverly. The winner of that eliminator would get a mandatory shot at Huck.
"My old friend Nuri Seferi lost yesterday with Krzysztof Glowacki and missed the chance to be a contender for my title. It was an exciting fight. Nuri gave everything, but sometimes it's just not your night. All boxers go through it. I hope that Nuri is not broken and comes back on the winning track. I am sure that one day we will meet in the ring. Glowacki has yet to prove his worth in the final eliminator with Tony Bellew, and only then will he be able to fight for my belt. I'm already excited about fighting the winner," Huck said.
