Unbeaten featherweight Manuel 'Tino' Avila will fight Prosper Ankrah on July 9, Golden Boy Promotions matchmaker Robert Diaz confirmed to BoxingScene.com.

The 10 round bout will take place at the Cache Creek Casino Resort in Brooks, Calif.

Avila (20-0, 8 KOs) is coming off a 10 round unanimous decision over Rene Alvarado on April 1 in Los Angeles. His most impressive win to date was a knockout over former world title challenger Yoandris Salinas.

After a successful run as a junior featherweight, Avila is now campaigning as a featherweight. His fight against Ankrah will be his third at 126 pounds.

Avila, who is amongst the top featherweights out of the Golden Boy Promotions stable, will likely be fighting before a partisan crowd in Brooks as it is about a 45-minute drive from his hometown of Fairfield.

In his last bout on April 9, Ankrah (24-7, 15 KOs) was stopped after the fourth round by Tomas Rojas. He has lost his last three bouts in a row after winning four consecutive bouts.

Ankrah is originally from Accra, Ghana and currently resides in Silver Springs, Maryland.

In the co-feature, former world title challenger Manuel Roman (19-4-3, 7 KOs) squares off against Javier Gallo (21-12-1, 12 KOs) in an eight round junior featherweight bout.

Light heavyweight Ryan Bourland (9-1, 4 KOs) from nearby Vacaville faces Gilberto Rubio (6-2, 4 KOs) in a six round bout.

Three more fights round out the co-promotion between Golden Boy Promotions, Don Chargin Productions, and Paco Presents Boxing.
