Malignaggi is Excited About Broner Fight, Rips Thurman

By Bill "Two Scoops" Emes

WBA welterweight champion Paulie Malignaggi (32-4, 7KOs) is very excited about facing Adrien Broner (26-0, 22KOs), the WBC's lightweight champion, on June 22 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Thoughts on The Fight:

"It's exciting. I think it's a fight a lot of people are going to be looking forward to and I think it's a fight that a lot of people will be hyping. It has poetntial for a lot of fireworks, a lot of press, a lot of coverage, a lot of crazy antics from me and Adrien. We're always talking a lot and we our shticks with our gimmicks. I think between all that, and putting on a great fight, I think it will be a great event." How The Broner Talks Began:

"I first got an email from Dave Itskowitch of Golden Boy, asking me if I was interested in a Broner fight. At first I was like 'are they serious' because he's only a lightweight. So I said '[I'm] not [interested] if I have not lose more weight' because I came up to welterweight and I'm staying at welterweight. They said 'no, [the fight is] at welterweight.' I told them to make me an offer and from there it just built momentum. Confident of Victory:

"I'm very confident in my ability to beat him. I'm not saying he's not a good fighter, but I think there are weight classes for a reason and I think that's one of the reasons that he's going to have a problem with me. And also other reasons  as well. Adrien is going to fight a person who has a lot of character, who is going to come to fight no matter what. I try to make adjustments the best I can and I come to win every time out. I don't think he's seen that yet. He's not going to win this fight on talent alone. He's going to have to think in there and I don't think he's had to do that yet." Not Being Impressed With Thurman:

"I'm not saying he's a bad fighter. I just dont think that he's ready to fight a crafty guy, because he's another guy who won over guys who were tailor-made for him. He hasn't had to think through any of his wins either. I dont think he's even the thinker that Adrien is. I think Thurman is pretty limited. He throws these hard punches but he;s pretty limited. He's not very creative. And he's not the most naturally gifted. He's a little clumsy on his feet. His decision making does not impress me either considering the stiffs he's got in front of him. He's 24-0 or whatever his record is and he should be that record, because 99% of pro boxers would be undefeated if we fought those guys."

[QUOTE=kmas-ski;13132691]Funny when a white boxer pops ish he's viewed a good trash talker but when Broner or Mayweather do the same they are called every name under the sun! Jersey Shore AKA Paulie Malinaggi is nothing more then a serve…

Doesn't Broner come to the ring at 150? Paulie is going to get worked in this fight.

Everybody knows Malignaggi is the titleholder to gun for. Even though Broner is jumping up 2 weight classes he really is a fighter built for 140 instead of 35 and Malignaggi is a smallish welter so there will not be…
