| Malignaggi Beats Down Senchenko For TKO Win in Nine
Donetsk, Ukraine - Paulie Malignaggi (31-4, 7KOs) became a two division world champion by stopping previously undefeated Vyacheslav Senchenko (32-1, 21KOs) in the ninth round to capture the WBA's welterweight championship. After a few rounds, the left side of Senchenko's face, especially under the left eye, was swollen and badly bruised and his nose was busted. By the sixth round, a cut opened up Senchenko's left eye. Malignaggi was outboxing the champion, making him miss his punches and making him pay. Malignaggi also used sharp punches to continue the damage to Senchenko's face. By the ninth round, the champion could barely see out of his left eye and was taking a lot of punishment. Referee Steve Smoger had seen enough and stopped the fight. In a WBA Inter-Continental cruiserweight title fight, Iago Kiladze (19-0, 13 KOs) scored a second round knockout over Julien Perriaux (15-9, 8 KOs). Kiladze rocked Perriaux in the first round and blasted him down with a crushing right in the second. Perriaux made it up to his feet, but appeared to be in bad shape and the fight was stopped. In a bout for the WBA Inter-Continental featherweight championship, Oleg Yefimovych (22-2, 11 KOs) boxed his way to a dominating twelve round unanimous decision over Sergio Santillan (29-12-3, 14 KOs). The scores were not announced in English over the pay-per-view. Tags: Oleg Yefimovych , Paulie Malignaggi , Vyacheslav Senchenko , Malignaggi-Senchenko , Malignaggi vs Senchenko |

Great win for Paulie, always considered him a good fighter, but a level below the best, b-/c+. Unexpected for sure getting the stoppage, 2 in the last 4 moving up in weight, after only 5 his entire career. He was coming off a broken hand too wasn't he?
So is Paulie going to come out and accuse... |
