Maidana Plans To Sit Back Until Mayweather's Decision

By Elisinio Castillo

Former champion Marcos Maidana is planning to relax until Floyd Mayweather Jr. makes an official decision regarding his opponent for September 13th. Maidana lost a twelve round majority decision to Mayweather on May 3rd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. He was a huge underdog but put up a much better fight than anyone expected. Maidana believes he won the last fight and deserves a rematch.

"The fight with Mayweather, I've watched it a few times. I'm not going to say that I didn't win, maybe I missed the opportunity to knock him out. I'm hoping that he will give me the opportunity of a rematch. I know Mayweather's father said his son should not fight me again, that I'm dirty and I do not know what other things [he said], but I'm not going to give that any importance because the one who decides is Mayweather. I do not know when I'll return to boxing, but it has to be against him, because I do not care about fighting with someone else. We have to get an answer. Right now my manager is on vacation and I'm on a break before returning to the gym," Maidana said to Pablo Vignone.
Oh, am I supposed to be surprised to find that he is going to do what everyone else does when they fight Mayweather? Take a year off & hope for a rematch, then blame their time off on managerial issues.…
Pacquiao vs Maidana is better than Marquez 5. If Rios beats Diego Chaves, then he's an option for Maidana.
Rios is a complete waste of time. You dont go from fighting Floyd to fighting Rios.

Better not wait around for Mayweather. Learn from Khan's ordeal and do exact what Danny Garcia does..
