Maidana: Mayweather's Talk Won't Work, I Will KO Him

By Edward Chaykovsky

Marcos Maidana (34-4, 31KOs) says WBC/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (46-0, 26KOs) is being more aggressive with his verbal attacks in order to "break his concentration" for the fight. Maidana and Mayweather have been trading words during their five city press conference tour for their September 13th rematch at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Maidana lost his cool during the San Antonio presser, shoving Mayweather during their face off. Mayweatehr and Maidana's trainer have also been exchanging insults for most of the tour.

“Floyd is trying to get under our skin, but it’s not going to work.  We’re going to do our fighting in the ring and this time we’re going to win. Floyd is trying to make us lose our cool.  He’s trying to make us angry so we break concentration.  He does it on purpose because he wants to have the upper hand.  But his comments don’t affect me at all," Maidana said.

“Floyd can say whatever he wants about me.  He knows that I gave him the toughest fight of his life.  The only difference is this time I will knock him out. This will be a different fight.  He knows what I bring to the table and he knows how I fight.  I don’t want to leave any doubt whatsoever.  To beat a champion like Floyd you have to knock him out."

[QUOTE=Bronx2245;14772000]Too bad that'll never happen. Maidana is too big for Manny. Freddie already wants Pac back at 140. That's why Manny is fighting another 140 fighter just like Bradley, Rios, and Marquez. He might never fight a true welterweight again.…

TKO is possible, due to cuts or early stoppage. KO, stop it.
