Marcos Maidana (35-4, 31KOs) is going very good work in the gym, according to his new conditioning coach Raul Robles. Maidana has begun his preparations for the September 13th rematch with WBC/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (46-0, 26KOs) at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Robles and renowned trainer Robert Garcia are preparing Maidana for the fight in Oxnard, California.

Robles had previously worked with such fighters as Erik Morales, Antonio Margarito and several others. For his last two fights, Maidana was using Alex Ariza as his conditioning coach, but Ariza is no longer working with Garcia's fighters.

"[Maidana] did many exercises for flexibility, strength, he did crunches, medicine ball exercises, but the start has been encouraging," explained Robles.
