Earlier this week, undefeated Cuban heavyweight Luis Ortiz (20-0, 17 KO's) beat Puerto Rico's Alex Gonzalez in two minutes of the first round on at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida to keep his unbeaten streak intact, as he hopes to land a world title fight in the coming months .
Jay Jimenez, Ortiz’s manager and CEO of King Kong Boxing, says Ortiz has a good opportunity to get a world title fight in June 2014.
"We recently signed a promotional contract with Golden Boy Promotions and we have in our plans to fight for a world title held by Wladimir Klitschko before the end of 2014," Jiminez said.
Luis Ortiz said - "I am training hard at the 5th Street Gym and the Caicedo’s Sport Gym in Florida. We are ready to return to the best positions in the rankings and I want assure all of the boxing fans in South Florida that I am going to bring the heavyweight title to America."
Jiminez indicates that Ortiz will return to action in January or early February in a stay-busy fight, and then he wants his boxer to land a big fight.
