Cuban heavyweight Luis Ortiz (22-0, 19KOs), 36-years-old, is very focused on capturing a world title. He was very close last September when he knocked out Lateef Kayode in the first round to capture the WBA interim-championship.

Following the Kayode fight he was stripped and suffered a suspension after testing positive for anabolic steroids. He came back to action last month on Montreal as part of the David Lemieux-Hassan N'Dam undercard and knocked out Byron Polley in one round.

He is now set to return as part of an HBO Latino card on August 8th from Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California.

"I thank God, because he knows what he does. You do not know how many people supported me in the darkest moments, my family, friends, my team, my manager. I still maintain my innocence. The Nevada commission found something and that they made a decision that I accept. What will I do? I just think about moving on. Life goes on," Ortiz told George Ebro.

"I've been in this, giving and taking punches, for 11 years now and I can say that I have more hunger now than when I came to this country in search of a better future for my family. Me desire is to be the best in the world, to impose against everything and everyone is still alive in me. Our plan is to make three or four fights in a short time period and show the world that we are ready for bigger challenges."
