Super featherweight contender Luis "El Artisano" Cruz (20-2) has advised BoxingScene.com that he is returning to the ring in January. The Puerto Rican fighter said that he has started training and is looking to make another run at a title shot.

"I just started doing conditioning drills and running.  In two weeks I will join my team in Orlando where we will get into the heavy training. The plan is to get back in the ring January and work towards a championship," Cruz explained. The 27 year-old is promoted by Miguel Cotto Promotions and Top Rank.  He lost a unanimous decision to Jose Felix Jr. in his most recent fight which took place on September 13th.
