Super featherweight contender Luis Cruz (20-1) is scheduled to return to the ring on September 13th at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas in a special Thursday edition of ESPN Friday Night Fights. Jessie Vargas will make his Top Rank debut when he faces Aron Martinez in the evening's main event.
About a month ago Cruz's original opponent Casey Ramos (16-0) decided to not take the fight and go in a different direction.
Boxingscene has been advised that Ramos' replacement Eudy Bernardo (15-0) of the Dominican Republic has also pulled out of the fight and will be replaced by hard hitting but unproven Mexican Jose "Josesito" Fιlix Jr. (20-0-1-17KOs). This will be a major step up fight for Felix who has never fought outside of Mexico and has only faced three opponents with as much as a winning record.
