| Luis Concepcion: I Want a Direct Rematch With Marquez
By Miguel Rivera Luis 'El Nica' Concepcion is ready to do it one more time with Hernán 'Tyson' Márquez. Last Saturday they traded knockdowns and went to war for ten rounds of action at the Arena Roberto Durán in Panama City. Concepcion's face was badly swollen by the end of the tenth. The ringside doctor stopped the fight before the eleventh round could get going and Marquez was given the victory and Concepcion's WBA flyweight title. The Panamanian apologized to his fans and admits that he followed the wrong strategy in the fight. "I made a mistake in the pattern of the fight. I concentrated too much on landing a single big shot and the truth is I neglected my defense, which Marquez exposed and connected with punches. I don't think this loss will greatly affect my preparation but I'm left with the experience of being more focused for future fights. This is a learning experience. The title was lent to Mexico and I want to assure the people of Panama that I will do everything in my power to recover that belt and bring it back here to regain your trust," Concepcion said. Marquez was moving and countering effectively with ease most of teh fight, even after he was stunned in teh last round he continued to move and counter well, that's how easy it was. |

[QUOTE=edgarg]There's no doubt that Concepcion "looked" the better fighter and the straighter puncher, and I thought, from the way the first few rds went, that he's easily KO Marquez. But he'll have to learn NOT to walk straight in with NO head movement. The thing was, that after exchanging KD... |
