Former super middleweight champion Lucian Bute (31-2, 24KOs) is making some changes. The 34-year-old boxer, once considered to be one of the best fighters in the world, has lost two of his last three fights. He was blown out by Carl Froch in five rounds in May of 2012, returned in November to decision Denis Grachev, and then moved up to light heavyweight in January to lose a twelve round decision to Canadian rival Jean Pascal.
After more than a decade of being together, Bute has parted ways with Stephan Larouche and the search is underway for a new coach. Larouche trained Bute since he moved from Romania to Canada to turn pro in 2003.
"I'm 34 and I think I still have things that I can accomplish in boxing. I do not want to have any regrets. I want to at least give myself the chance to try it in another environment," Bute told RDS.
