Matthysse is under the wings of his training team, comprised of Luis "Cuty" Barrera and Alberto "Coca" Andrada, plus trainer Javier Viglizzo. The trainers have put together and army of sparring partners for Matthysse.

The hard punching junior welterweight is sparring daily with undefeated lightweight Marcelino "Nino" Lopez, Colombian boxers Fidel Monterrosa and Denis Linan, former South American welterweight and super welterweight champion Wilfredo Vilches, Mateo Veron, Jonathan Palacio, South American welterweight champ Luis Carlos Abregú and Miguel "La Joya" Barrionuevo.

Matthysse begins his work day at 6 am with a morning jog, then moves to a downtown gym to work on fitness and physical conditioning with Viglizzo, and then in the afternoon he works in the Mario Paladino Gym.

I really hope Morales can get in shape. He'll need to be in better shape than the Madina fight. I'm not sure why Morales comes in soft sometimes.
