Argentinian Lucas "Machine" Matthysse (35-3, 33KOs) will fight on September 6th in Cincinatti, Ohio, against undefeated WBC silver 140-pound champion Roberto "Massa" Ortiz (31-0-1, 24KOs) of Mexico, and that's currently all that he's got on his mind.
Matthyse is determined to conquer the WBC crown which resides with Ortiz, and this intense Showtime televised contest will be at the US Bank Arena in Cincinnati.
"I'm focused on Ortiz and no other challenges. Although I have a winning spirit, I must fully concentrate on this fight. Each bout is different, but I always try to focus only on my next opponent, and then the rest will come. I know that after this fight I could fight for the WBC world title.
"We are working very well, and I'm going to be in a perfect condition to fight. The work to get into top shape has been hard. Roberto Ortiz is a very tough opponent. So we've been preparing well for three weeks," explained the Argentine, who trains at the gym of Aranobox located in the city of Junin.
Lucas will arrive a week before the fight to complete his training in Ohio along with his team: Luis Barrera, Eduardo "Cirujano" Morales, Matias Erbin and medic Eduardo Leguizamón.
