WBO featherweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko (2-1, 1KO), fresh from his title victory over Gary Russell Jr., is now targeting the other world champions at his weight. His promoter, Top Rank, has mentioned the idea of having a tournament of fights over the next year or so. Top Rank also promotes WBA champion Nonito Donaire, WBA 'regular' champion Nicholas Walters and IBF champion Evgeny Gradovich.

"It was interesting [to hear that from Top Rank]. But in my opinion in professional boxing and all of these [sanctioning bodies] - you need to create a [singular] championship belt. At the Olympics, the World Cup around 60-70 boxers come in and they held a tournament. I understand that in professional boxing this is impossible because of fights being twelve rounds. But you can stretch this tournament for a year and a half. It would be interesting. And now I sound like a world champion, but I do not consider myself as such. I beat one boxer who never not boxed with any of the fighters at the top. To be the [undisputed] champion of the world - this is when all of the versions are unified, they make a [singular] belt, and you win it. Then you can consider yourself the best," Lomachenko said.

Feels unproven after winning title from a fellow prospect, damn… this guy is destined for greatness folks. He has the skill set but most importantly, the mind frame to reach greatness in a competitive sport that seems to lack it.
