Promoter Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions is excited about tomorrow's high stakes heavyweight fight in Moscow, between 29-year-old Cuban boxer Mike Perez (21-1-1, 13KOs) and 35-year-old Olympic gold medal winner Alexander Povetkin (28-1, 20KOs) of Russia.

The two fighters will battle in an WBC final heavyweight eliminator. The winner will earn a shot at World Boxing Council heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (33-0, 32KOs), who next month defends his title in a voluntary bout against Eric Molina in Alabama.

Perez is now being trained by Colin Morgan. Previously he was trained by Adam Booth when he suffered his decision loss last year to Bryant Jennings.

"We rarely see two top heavyweight, ranked at number one and two in the WBC, fight each other. This is a great opportunity, because the winner gets the right to fight Deontay Wilder. There is a lot at stake. Povetkin is an Olympic champion, but Perez also has a lot of experience from the amateurs. I think we are in for a great fight," said Loeffler, who promotes Perez.

"Before the fight [with Bryant Jennings, Perez] was training with Adam Booth, but training camp was not the best, and like you said Perez was really not 100% ready. But now everything is different, and on Friday we will see Perez look better."
