Coldwell Boxing’s numbers were increased today as the expanding promotional outfit completed the signing of highly-rated Macclesfield prospect, Liam Hanrahan. The North-West youngster who made his professional debut earlier this month on the Matthew Hatton/Michael Lomax undercard becomes the latest name to join Dave Coldwell’s growing empire and he will have his next outing on December 7th at Manchester’s Bowlers venue.
Hanrahan enjoyed an eventful run when boxing amateur and his list of vested victims included top-rated talents such as Kallum De’ath and Josh Warrington. Hanrahan also had the pleasure of twice sharing the ring with Hull sensation, Luke Campbell, who captured a gold medal at this year’s Olympic Games. After being mightily impressed after watching Hanrahan’s debut (a first round victory over Blagoy Ivanov), Coldwell has high hopes for his newest acquisition.
“There’s no doubt that Hanrahan has a solid pedigree but he seems to have made that transition from amateur to pro with real ease,” buzzed Coldwell. “He’s a kid who’s learning all the time and as long as he keeps doing that in every fight he has then there’s no reason why he can’t have a bright future. We’re putting together a quality little stable of young and hungry fighters and Liam is certainly one of those. It’s going to be a good journey for him.”
