Lewkowicz: Martinez vs. Cotto Could Be Done Soon

By Elisinio Castillo

The fight between former three division champion Miguel Cotto (38-4, 31KOs), and WBC middleweight king Sergio Martinez (51-2-2, 26KOs), could be finalized by month's end, according to Martinez's adviser Sampson Lewkowicz. The two sides have continued to negotiate a possible HBO pay-per-view fight for June 7th at New York's Madison Square Garden.

"I think the fight is going to happen while there is goodwill in the talks. And so far there is good faith. Cotto will fight Sergio because he wants to make history, he wants to be a champion in four divisions, and not because they have other options," Lewkowicz told Jose Sanchez. "This week we will continue to negotiate. By the end of this month we will definitely know if the fight will happen or not."

Just imagine what a win would do to Cotto's legacy? but given Martinez is 100% with all that rest hes gonna Pavlik Cotto in to a bloody mess. Regardless if Cotto wins hes still an ATG. Even the guy's learning…

Which fighter will he retire next? I know Tony was the latest inductee into Cotto's hall of pain(LMAO).
