Les Sherrington vs. Randy Suico Set For WBO Asia Title

Les ‘Lock N Load’ Sherrington has announced that he will face Philippine Middleweight Randy Suico for a WBO Asia Pacific Title, in what is dubbed to be his last fight on Townsville soil, before making his way to the US, in a move that will steer him towards a major world title fight.

Les Sherrington is confident and feels that there isn’t a better way for him to see out what has been the happiest, most exciting and successful year of his career. He has said “I am the luckiest man in the world.  Personally, I have married the girl of my dreams and we have welcomed our beautiful baby girl this year.  Professionally, I have joined an awesome camp and train with some of the best in Australian Boxing here at Smithy’s Gym, I am being promoted by Joe Pennisi, Ringside Fight Promotions and I have fought and won two incredibly challenging and career changing fights, with two world titles over two different weight divisions.  What better way to finish off the year, than with the opportunity to fight for a WBO title against a tough Philippine opponent?”

Promoter Joe Pennisi of Ringside Fight Promotions is excited by the opportunity the WBO has offered Les and believes the opponent, Randy Suico, is well matched and will make for a great bout!

Experienced international Trainer Brendon Smith reiterates Promoter Joe’s sentiments and believes that Les’ commitment and training program will see him fare very well in this fight.

A victory over Suico will guarantee Les a top 10 position with the WBO, one of the world’s most prestigious boxing organisations.

The announcement ends weeks of speculation as to who Les will be fighting, come November 30, in Townsville.

Supported by an impressive undercard of Boxing heroes with former Australian Title holder Josh King making his long awaited return to the ring and yet to be defeated Irish sensation and Queensland Title Holder Dennis Hogan, not to mention many of Townsville’s rising stars, Ryan Heck, Nicholas Reiter, Jamie McIntyre, Andrew Pollock and Paul Abdul-Rahman, this night is certainly not one to be missed.

Tickets for the ‘Domination’ Fight Night, which will take place on November 30 at the Townsville RSL Stadium, are available now from at $35 for adults and $20 for children.
