Les Sherrington, Jack Asis and Smith Hit The Gold Coast

Smithy’s gym fighters Les Sherrington, Jack Asis, Arnel Tinampay and Braydon Smith arrive on the Gold Coast ahead of the biggest fights of their careers this Saturday, July 28 at the Gold Coast Convention Centre.

WBF Super Middeweight World Champion, Les ‘Lock n Load’ Sherrington is ready for the biggest test of his career to date when he takes on Las Vegas legend and Mexican Hero Yuri Boy Campas this Saturday night for the vacant WBF World Middleweight title and the IBF Australasian Middleweight title. Campas, who has fought 12 world title fights including memorable wars with Multiple time World Champions including Oscar Dela Hoya, Fernando Vargas and Felix Trinidad to name a few, boasts 79 knockouts from 100 wins, is set to arrive later this week.

Phillipino fighter, Jack ‘The Assassin’ Asis is looking in the best shape of his career under the watchful eye of multiple time World Champion trainer, Brendon Smith. Asis, who made the change of scenery earlier this year, has completed his first training camp as part of the Smithy’s gym team. Asis, is set to face up and coming Japanese prospect, Ryusei Yoshida.

Arnel Tinampay, who initially came into camp as a sparring partner for Les Sherrington, has really made himself at home and is raring to go in his much anticipated bout with undefeated Irish hot prospect, Dennis Hogan.

Toowoomba’s most talked about athlete, Brayd ‘The Great White’ Smith, is firing on all cylinders ahead of his fourth bout this Saturday. Smith, who debut in the same venue on the undercard of Michael Katsidis last year, faces his biggest test yet when he takes on the very experienced Thai, Yong Sathong.

The WBF title means bugger all! Sherringham should be challenging Commonwealth champion George Groves.

Yori Boy Campas a Las Vegas legend?? Is that supposed to give legitimacy to a claim that something called Les Sherrington can become a two weight world champ by beating the washed up Mex. Crap talk coming out of Australia…
