Les Sherrington Hits The Gold Coast, Ready For Battle

Current WBF World middleweight champion and WBO World ranked Les “Lock N Load” Sherrington today shifted his training camp and training partners from Toowoomba to the Gold Coast ahead of his title fight on Friday.

Sherrington, who will take on Japanese star Shigetaka Yonezawa on September 20 at Southport sharks on the Gold Coast for the WBC Asian Boxing Council middleweight title, today said that “My preparation for this  fight has been better than any other and I’ve shifted my training partners, Brayd Smith, Jack Asis, Will Young and Darren Askew into camp with me for the final leg of my journey, to keep me sharp and aware come fight night. The best thing about training up at Smithy’s gym in Toowoomba is the great team we have and I wanted to bring my team into camp with me.”

Sherrington’s trainer/manager Brendon Smith said, “Its nice to arrive on the Gold Coast coming out of a tough and grueling training camp in Toowoomba. Les has handled the change of opponent well and has adapted well to the southpaw that we have coming for us.”

The September 20 card will also feature a stack of local talent. Hot prospect Rohan Murdock will take on Togasilimai Letoa plus an exciting undercard of talented fighters.
