Leo Santa Cruz Ready For Mayweather-Maidana Card

By Rick Reeno

MGM Grand, Las Vegas - WBC super bantamweight champion Leo Santa Cruz (27-0-1, 15KOs) is preparing for a likely return on September 13th, as part of the Showtime Pay-Per-View undercard to the Floyd Mayweather-Marcos Maidana rematch from the MGM Grand.

Santa Cruz was in action back in March, on the Canelo-Angulo PPV undercard, and won a 12-round decision over mandatory challenger Cristian Mijares.

"I spoke to my manager [Al Haymon] and he said probably they will put me on that card and hopefully they do, and we're going to be back strong. There is no opponent yet. I'm just ready for whoever they put in front of me. I am here to fight and please the fans with a good show," Santa Cruz told BoxingScene.com.

Gary Hyde is Rigo's manager & therefore calls the shots! Santa Cruz, Frampton, Quigg & Martinez have all been offered fights, but all have bottled it. If the challenge is there then please contact "No where to Hyde"!
