Lebedev vs Ofalabi For Vacant WBO Cruiserweight Title?

By Ruslan Chikov

According to promoter/manager Vladimir Hryunov, there is a chance that the WBO cruiserweight title will become vacant. Marco Huck, the current champion, will move up to heavyweight to fight for the title of a rival organization. He faces WBA "regular" champion Alexander Povetkin on February 25th in Germany. Except the WBO orderd Huck to defend his title in a mandatory bout with Ola Afolabi (18-2, 8KOs). Huck decisioned Afolabi in 2009. if Huck does indeed lose the title, Hryunov expects a possible battle for the vacant crown between his boxer Denis Lebedev (23-1, 17KOs) and Afolabi.
