Lebedev Released From The Hospital, No Issues With Eye

By Alexey Sukachev

Former WBA cruiserweight champion Denis Lebedev (25-2, 19 KOs), who suffered a horrible and frightening hematoma over his right eye and had his facial lines badly distorted during the last Friday's TKO 11 loss to Guillermo Jones (39-3-2, 32 KOs) of Panama, was successfully released from the hospital yesterday. All of the necessary examinations have been carried out and no career-threatening damage to Lebedev's eye have been revealed.

"Denis is out of the hospital now. His hematoma was removed. Right now everyone's attention is on the main fight of the year between Wladimir Klitschko and Alexander Povetkin. Denis has rightfully earned a long rest. He should recover both physically and psycholigically. Then we shall weigh-in all of the options with Denis", said Lebedev's promoter Vladimir Hryunov to the R-Sport media.

Bad swelling is generally less problematic long-term than a bad cut is. It was a visually horrific injury, but I think many people are overestimating how it will impair his future performances. If he isn't the same fighter, I think…

[QUOTE=Hitman932;13415950]I don't believe it for one second. This Hyrunov is a crook and thug who has no respect for the sport or the fighters. He didn't care if Lebedev died and it was all cause Denis had the nerve not…
