Lebedev Eyes Second Title Chance With Roy Jones Win
Denis Lebedev believes victory over Roy Jones Junior on Saturday night in Russia will pave the way to another world title shot.
He lost in a WBO title challenge against Marco Huck last time out, but has vowed to bounce back against Jones.
The veteran American - who has won world titles from middleweight through to heavyweight - insists that he still has what it takes to beat his southpaw rival.
"Jones is still a dangerous fighter," said Lebedev, who suffered his first loss against Huck.
"I'll have to be at my best if I am going to win. But I will win and I will go on to challenge for another world title."
But Jones hit back by saying: "I'm going to put a good show, because it's all I know.
"I don't pay attention to the critics, how they treat me. They didn't give me my talent to become champion.
"I don't really have problems with southpaws. The only problem I have is how to spell their names.
"That's why we're fighting Denis on Saturday – to figure it out. You know, I can't have my face messed up too bad, 'cause my looks are my money"

Roy is what you get when ego, pride and bad investments collide at 42 years of age and you have only one true viable skill. Jones wasted a great deal of his career waiting around ( ya hear this Floyd)…Post a Comment - View More User Comments (3)
