Lateef Kayode Decisions Felix Cora Jr. Over Ten

By Edward Chaykovsky

Grand Casino, Hinckley, Minnesota - cruiserweight contender Lateef Kayode (18-0, 14KOs) won a ten round unanimous decision over Felix Cora Jr. (22-6-2, 12KOs). The scores were 97-92, 96-93 and 98-92.

Cora kept a very tight defense for the first couple of round, but Kayode started getting to him with very hard punches in the six and seventh rounds. Cora rallied in the final twenty seconds of the ninth and stunned Kayode with a combination that sent the unbeaten boxer against the ropes. Cora also had another good round in the tenth and final, landing hard punches and winning exchanges - plus Kayode lost a point for a low blow.
