Joseph Laryea could base himself in Scotland for several weeks before his clash with WBO super-featherweight champion Ricky Burns.
The Ghanaian has been urged to leave his native country because the heat there in March is so oppresive.
There are fears that Laryea will not be able to cope with the sudden drop in temperatures when he travels to Glasgow.
He takes on Burns on March 12 at the Braehead Arena.
But the 27-year-old had little difficulty with freezing temperatures last December when he beat Paul Appleby on points.
"It's hot in Ghana right now, but I'll make it even hotter for Burns in the ring," said Laryea.
