| Lara-Martirosyan Sells 1,826 Tickets, Does $130K Gate

Greisman The Nov. 10 card featuring a main event of Erislandy Lara vs. Vanes Martirosyan had a total attendance of 2,243, with 1,826 tickets sold and 417 tickets given away for free, according to figures provided by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. A total of 889 tickets went unsold. The nine-fight card, held at Wynn Las Vegas and broadcast on HBO, brought in a total gate of $129,850. Martirosyan and Lara fought to a nine-round technical draw; the fight ended after a clash of heads opened a bad cut on Martirosyan. One judge had Martirosyan ahead at the time, one judge had Lara ahead and the third had it even. Lara is now 17-1-2 with 11 knockouts. Martirosyan is now 32-0-1 with 20 knockouts. The co-feature bout on the card saw Miguel Garcia score an eighth-round technical knockout over Jonathan Barros, who was substituted onto the card in place of an injured Orlando Salido. David P. it's a shame that fight ended when it did. it was just about approaching boiling point and then the cut killed it. |

80% were there for Vanes, evident based on the boos Lara got and the cheers Vanes did. Considering the undercard sucked and more affordable tickets available the same night at Staples for a bigger fight, with a better undercard, and 1/12th the commute for all LA fans, think the gate did great!
