Lara: Canelo Has 3 Losses on Record - Me, Golovkin, Mayweather

This Saturday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York - Erislandy "The American Dream" Lara (24-2-2, 14 KOs) will defend his WBA, IBO junior middleweight titles against undefeated 2012 U.S. Olympian Terrell Gausha (20-0, 9 KOs).

Beyond the fight with Gausha, Lara would love to get his hands on the two top middleweights - Canelo Alvarez and IBO, WBA, IBF, WBC middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin. But since those fights are not been obtainable, he wants to unify the junior middleweight division.

"I would love to move up to 160 and Canelo and Golovkin are the top guys. But 154 is much deeper. Those are the two guys we want, but if we can't get them then we have to stay at 154 and clean it out, like I said. There are just better fights at 154," Lara said.

Lara lost a close and some felt controversial twelve round split decision to Canelo in 2014. Last month, Canelo fought to a controversial twelve round draw with Golovkin - and they are discussing a rematch for May of 2018.

There is still an itch for Lara to get revenge on Canelo in the ring. Lara believes that he should have been the winner of their contest from three years ago and he also felt Golovkin should have been awarded the victory last month.

According to Lara, if Canelo is the fighter that he claims to be, he will face him in the ring for a second time to set the record straight.

Canelo has a record of 49-1-2, 34 KOs - with the sole defeat coming at the hands of Floyd Mayweather in 2013.

"If you look at Canelo's record there are three marks. There's Mayweather, me and Golovkin. Great fighters fix the wrongs on their record, and Canelo and his team will have to do that sooner or later," Lara said.

"The Canelo rematch is there. The Golovkin fight is out there. I have unfinished business that has to be settled. Canelo knows who the true winner of our fight was, and he doesn't want to do that fight again."

[QUOTE=kushking;18130313]If u say ggg won unconvincingly then thats a legitimate ARGUMENT but if u say he beat his ass then your bias af. I say ARGUMENT because it was fairly officially awarded a draw so your opinion is an argument.…
