Kubrat Pulev-Joey Dawejko Bout Set For April 5th

By Rostislav Chanev/BG Sport

Kubrat Pulev has a new opponent for the gala in Rostock on the 5th of April.

The Cobra is going to fight Joey Dawejko in a stay busy fight. Th3 23-year-old American has 14 matches as a pro, winning 9 of them and losing 3. Another 2 of his fights ended in a draw.

The former youth world champion is going to fight with Pulev for the right to be mandatory challenger to the IBF/WBO/IBO/WBA champion Wladimir Klitschko.

Pulev last fought against another American. That was Joey Abell, who Pulev defeated with a technical knockout in December.

"I don’t know a lot about my opponent. he is not a famous name in the world of boxing. I don’t think it will be a problem to beat him. I don’t underestimate him and I will be 100 percent focused on the fight“, Pulev said.

Pulev will get no credit for beating Dawejko, who is probably as good as they could find on three days notice.
