Los Angeles, California - As previously reported by BoxingScene.com's Steve Kim, there appears to be some issues in the agreement for a fall showdown between WBA/WBO/IBF light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev (30-0, 26KOs) and Olympic gold medal winner Andre Ward (30-0, 15KOs).

In what appeared to be a done deal on Sunday, has now become a tug of war over several points in the contract - with the location and venue being the biggest obstacle for both sides to overcome.

There was a deal reached, or so thought Kovalev's promoter Kathy Duva of Main Events, to stage the card at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

But now Roc Nation Sports, who promote Ward, are not in favor of that venue and want to take the fight elsewhere - which doesn't sit well with Duva who organized the deal with MGM Properties, who own the venue. Duva was hoping to announce the ticket information, but now all of that is up in the air until both sides figure out the venue details.

Main Events and Kovalev held a media gathering on Tuesday to announce the fight. They were left shaking their heads when Ward and his representatives were not present.

Kovalev is frustrated by the latest developments, but hopes Ward arrives to the ring on fight night.

"Where is Andre? I'm really disappointed because we are doing this for the fans, but I hope that he comes to the ring," Kovalev told BoxingScene.com.
