Matt Korobov now has an opponent for his Nov. 18 date in Kissimmee, Florida — journeyman Scott Sigmon.
That’s according to a tweet by Mike Borao, who manages Korobov.
This will be Korobov’s third fight since suffering a sixth-round stoppage loss to Andy Lee in a bout for a vacant middleweight title back in December 2014. Korobov didn’t fight at all in 2015 but came back earlier this year. He outpointed Josue Obando in January and Brian Vera in June to move to 26-1 (14 KOs).
Sigmon is 27-9-1 with 15 KOs and has been a measuring stick opponent between middleweight and super middleweight. He’s 5-6-1 since June 2012, dating back to his stoppage loss to Kelly Pavlik. The other defeas came against Philip Jackson Benson, Caleb Truax, J’Leon Love, Ronald Gavril and Lanell Bellows.
