Konecny vs Larbi For The WBO's Interim Title, April 5th

By Per Ake Persson

Czech jr. middleweight contender Lukas Konecny, 47-3-0, will square off against Frenchman Salim Larbi, 17-1-1, for the WBO's interim jr. middleweight title on April 5 at the Vodova Arena in Brno, Czech Republic. SES will be promoting.

Konecny was all set to fight champion Zaurbek Baysangurov in Ukraine on March 10 - when early last week Baysangurov had to pull out from the scheduled fight with an injured back.

Prior to that, Konecny spent some time waiting for then champion Sergey Dzinziruk - as did Baysangurov, who first won the interim title before begin declared the full champion.

Lukas must be regarded as a strong favorite to beat the somewhat untested Larbi.
