The next opponent for Manny Pacquiao is still up in the air, says the boxer's adviser Michael Koncz. There are two options, WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley and WBO junior welterweight champion Ruslan Provodnikov.
Koncz says Juan Manuel Marquez, who consistently rejected a fifth meeting, is no longer an option for the scheduled return date of April 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Koncz plans to sit down with Pacquiao next month, and then he will gather the information from their discussion and pass it along to Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum.
Bradley, who won a controversial twelve round decision over Pacquiao in 2012, is the frontrunner. Provodnikov and Pacquiao are friends, sparring partners, and both are trained by Freddie Roach.
I met with Arum last week, he gave me a proposal. I already had a brief conversation with Manny but its Christmas time, New Years time. Were going to enjoy the holidays, Mannys enjoying time with his family. At the first of the year, Manny and I will sit down, seriously talk about what we want to do, who we want to fight. And then Ill relay that to Arum, said Koncz to ABS-CBN News.Tags: Manny Pacquiao , Michael Koncz
