Koncz: Pacquiao-Marquez Trilogy is Not Done Yet

By Lem Satterfield

While a deal might be finalized on the side of Juan Manuel Marquez, adviser Michael Koncz advised BoxingScene.com that Manny Pacquiao has to sign off on several important items related to the fight, including his purse. In the coming days, Koncz will hold a meeting with Pacquiao's promoter, Bob Arum of Top Rank, to discuss the financial details for Manny. After their meeting, Koncz will leave Los Angeles and fly over to the Philippines to review the details with Pacquiao.

"I don't really want to put any undo pressure on Manny. I'll sit down with Bob Arum over the next few days and discuss the details, and then go to Manny, and then Manny will give me the marching orders. It's very simple.  I'll sit down with Bob, discuss the purse, and so forth, and then I'll present it to Manny when I get to the Philippines on Sunday. But we're in no rush," Koncz told BoxingScene.com.

Marquez's former promoters, Golden Boy Promotions, are likely not going to match the lucrative offer presented by Top Rank for a Pacquiao trilogy. According to a source, the terms for Marquez are basically in line with the same deal that was presented to Shane Mosley for his recent fight with Pacquiao. Marquez will receive a guaranteed of $5 million plus $5 per home after 850,000 pay-per-view buys. If Marquez wins, the Mexican veteran is guaranteed $10 million dollars for a fourth fight.

If everything gets finalized, Pacquiao-Marquez will take place on November 12 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. There will be a catch-weight of 144-pounds.

[QUOTE=El_Purepecha;10560859]It's difficult for casual fans to look past knock downs. I'm sure a lot of posters here have not even watched the first 2 fights all the way through. They're just in awe about the knock downs, which were nice…

Floyd needs to fight people at his own size and weight. No more of this showing up to the weigh in exceeding the limit. It shows poor class and solidifies him as a sure cherry picker.

Anyone who thinks Pac is drained at 140 is an idiot he barely can make 147 he always come in under 147

[QUOTE=Boxing Scene;10560729]If was that much better he wouldn't have fought tooth and nail for a draw and lose the second very close fight. He also would have done way better against Mayweather. I have no doubt in my mind Pac…
