Manny Pacquiao’s adviser, Michael Koncz, met with Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum to discuss the planned November 10th fight with Pacquiao. Koncz was due to speak with Pacquiao on Monday but apparently did not.
Instead, Koncz told us “I met with Bob yesterday afternoon and I will discuss [the details of] my meeting with Manny today or tomorrow.”
There was no word on what they talked about and what Koncz plans to tell Pacquiao.
After having what he described as an “excellent meeting” with Pacquiao in General Santos City during his recent visit to the Philippines, Arum told BoxingScene.com/Manila Standard that Pacquiao would definitely fight on November 10 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
But there are rumors suggesting that Pacquiao would want to skip a November fight and concentrate on reaching an agreement with Floyd Mayweather Jr for a megabuck showdown next April, prior to the May elections in the Philippines with Pacquiao planning to run for governor of the Sarangani province.
The two reported frontrunners to face Pacquiao are Juan Manuel Marquez and Timothy Bradley. Marquez and Pacquiao have been involved in three controversial fights, with Manny winning two of the three by close decision. Their first meeting as a twelve round draw. This past June, Bradley won a controversial split decision over Pacquiao to capture the WBO welterweight title.
