Michael Koncz, adviser to WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao (52-3, 38KOs), says the boxer was recently misquoted in press with respect to a possible mega-fight with unbeaten, six-time champion, Floyd Mayweather (41-0, 25 KOs). It was reported that Pacquiao closed the door on a potential Mayweather fight.
"Manny's just been misquoted. There's always a possibility to fight Floyd," said Michael Koncz. "We've never closed the door. But there's no discussions going on between our camp and Floyd's camp. There's no discussions between the camps."
Pacquiao is in the Philippines with trainer Freddie Roach, preparing for the May 7th title defense against former three division champion Shane Mosley at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Koncz said sparring partners David Rodela and Shawn Porter are expected to report to camp on March 30.
