Klitschko vs. Pianeta Waiting For The WBA's Approval

By Luke Furman

Sources close to K2 Promotions are stating that Francesco Pianeta (28-0-1, 15 KOs) will be the next opponent for WBO/IBO/IBF/WBA heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (59-3, 51 KOs).  Terms have been reportedly agreed upon, but Wladimir is waiting to get approval from the World Boxing Association. Sauerland Event, who promote WBA "regular" champion Alexander Povetkin, put in a petition with the WBA to force Wladimir to reach a deal with them before entering a voluntary defense. If everything comes together, it will happen on May 4th at the SAP Arena in Mannheim.

Not really the best opponent who's out there but I guess no one else was available.

[QUOTE=DavidHaye'sToe;13106812]Desperation at what ? I don't have to justify Wladimir's opposition as long as he beats all his mandatories and unifacations, which he has with ease. Will you watch Wlad fight Pianeta,I suspect you will right ? Why else watch him…

[QUOTE=DavidHaye'sToe;13107116]Hey watch yourself Freedom,Andrew will be most upset and accuse you of reaching for desperation,it's the favourite word in his vocabulary when he's preaching Klitschko resentment after Price was humbled by an oap who shouldn't have been in the ring…
