The World Boxing Association ordered the purse bid for the mandatory heavyweight fight between super champion Wladimir Klitschko and "regular" beltholder Alexander Povetkin. The call was made by the WBA Championship Committee, and takes place on April 23 at 11:00 am at the offices of the World Boxing Association, located in Marbella, Panama. Responsible for directing the auction will be the WBA Executive Vice President Gilberto Jesus Mendoza.
Povetkin (25-0, 17KOs) may fight on May 18th in Russia, while Wladimir (59-3, 50KOs)has a set defense against Francesco Pianetta on May 4th in Germany.
The minimum amount to participate will be one million dollars, and the purse will be shared 75% by the super champion and 25% for regular champion. The fight date must be between July 15 to August 31, 2013 - at the latest.
