Klitschko-Mormeck Reportedly Finalized For Dec. 10

by Ruslan Chikov

The fight is now reportedly finalized. Former cruiserweight king Jean Marc Mormeck (36-4, 22KOs) will challenge IBF/IBO/WBO/WBA heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (56-3, 49KOs) on December 10th before 50,000 fans at the ESPRIT Arena in Düsseldorf, Germany. Mormeck has been inactive since last December's decision win over Timur Ibragimov. This is no surprise to BoxingScene readers, as we first reported this scenario on September 10.

A former cruiserweight champion and the most popular fighter in France, Mormeck dropped David Haye in the fourth round of their 2007 cruiserweight unification, but then faded and got knocked out in the seventh. He took two years off and returned as a heavyweight in 2009, winning fights over Fres Oquendo, Vinny Maddalone and Ibragimov.

This is the worst fight Wlad has taken in a long, long long time. Pretty weak.

boxing is a business & this is a business decision...it's an easy fight & easy payday for wlad...this fight financially makes more sense then having him fight welliver.

My 10 points to anybody elses 1 billion points that Wlad doesn't knock Mormeck out.
