Klitschko Dominates and Stops Pianeta in Six Rounds

SAP Arena, Mannheim, Germany - IBO/WBO/IBF/WBA heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (60-3, 51KOs) stopped previously undefeated Franceso Pianeta (28-1-1, 15KOs) by way of a sixth round knockout. Wladimir, using a his crisp jab, controlled the fight and rarely missed the mark as he tagged Pianeta with big punches. Pianeta went down in the fourth round after getting caught by an accurate right hand shot, but he was dropped again in the fifth and sixth before the fight was stopped.

Wladimir now moves forward to a fall showdown with mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin. The fight with Povetkin is being targeted for September 7th or September 14th, and Wladimir stands to make over $17 million dollars from the fight.

Mike Perez (19-0, 12KOs) won a ten round unanimous decision over veteran Travis Walker (39-10-1, 31KOs)

Christina Hammer (14-0, 7KOs) won a ten round unanimous decision over Zita Zatyko (15-1-1) for the vacant WBO super middleweight female title. The scores were 100-89, 99-90 and 99-90.
