IBF/WBO/IBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 49 KOs) told media members that never in the history of the lengthy negotiations for a unification with WBA champion David Haye, have the two sides been so close to a deal. The 34-year-old Ukrainian, revealed some details of the preliminary agreement that he made with Haye, for a fight to take place on July 2.
Klitschko spoke to the press during a master class for members of the Ukrainian social program "Ukraine Sports Build Together."
"A contract is not signed yet but the talks with Haye are at a stage where they have never been before. In the end, all four of the belts will be ours. A duel can take place anywhere, except in America. We are two boxers who are from Europe, and this fight may not be very interesting for the United States. The breakdown of the money will be 50-50. This is not a concession to one party. In this compromise, the concessions are going both ways," Klitschko said.
