Kirkland vs Yorgey Possible For Maidana-Morales Card

By Ryan Burton

Undefeated junior middleweight prospect James Kirkland (25-0) told BoxingScene.com that he can't wait to get back in the ring in his first televised fight on the Marcos Maidana-Erik Morales undercard on April 9th. Kirkland has to come out of his tune up on March 5th unscathed in order to solidify his spot on the Maidana-Morales card. His opponent for March 5th hasn't been named yet.

One of the names being mentioned as a possible opponent for Kirkland in April is Harry Joe Yorgey.  Yorgey hasn't fought since being blown out in three rounds versus Alfredo Angulo in November of 2009. Yorgey has a tune up on February 25th and must win that fight in order to stay in the running for the Kirkland fight.

What the fuck are you guys talking about, "A good tune up fight"? Basically they're saying "if Kirkland gets past his tune up fight, he'll solidify his spot for another tune up fight."

Kirkland would hurt Yorgey.
Stupid, pointless fight. Kirkland should be fighting a live opponent, not a tomato can like Yorgey.
When has Kirkland been live in the last 2 years? Yorgey's more live than him you silly goose!
Tunney hates african-american fighters and will critisize them no matter what. This is a good comeback fight.
Nobody likes African-Americans. They are boring and coward fighters. All they do is run, jab, slap, hug, hold, and talk. We are lucky…
